Product Description

The Cisco XFP10GER-192IR-L is a low-power, hot-swappable XFP optical transceiver designed to provide high-speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Packet over SONET/SDH (POS) connectivity over Single-Mode Fiber (SMF). Engineered for enterprise backbones, metropolitan networks, and service provider infrastructures, this multirate transceiver supports both 10GBASE-ER/10GBASE-EW Ethernet and OC-192/STM-64 IR-2 optical transport applications.

Operating at a 1550 nm wavelength, the XFP10GER-192IR-L delivers reliable data transmission over distances of up to 40 km (24.9 miles) using standard G.652 single-mode fiber. Its low power consumption of approximately 2.5 W helps reduce energy usage while maintaining excellent optical performance, making it ideal for dense networking environments.

The module supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), allowing administrators to monitor transmit power, receive power, module temperature, supply voltage, and laser bias current for proactive network management. As a hot-swappable XFP module, it enables easy installation and replacement without interrupting network operations. The Cisco quality identification (ID) feature ensures compatibility with supported Cisco networking platforms while providing dependable interoperability with Cisco XENPAK, X2, and SFP+ optics on compatible links.
