The Juniper Networks RE-S-X6-64G Routing Engine is a high-performance control plane module designed for Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms, including the MX240, MX480, and MX960. Built to deliver exceptional processing power, scalability, and system reliability, this Routing Engine features a 6-core 2.0GHz Intel Haswell processor, 64GB of DDR4 memory, and dual solid-state drives (SSDs) to efficiently manage complex routing protocols, large routing tables, and demanding service provider applications.

Designed for carrier-grade environments, the RE-S-X6-64G runs Junos® OS, providing centralized control for routing, network management, system monitoring, and protocol processing. The powerful multi-core architecture enables the Routing Engine to support high volumes of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and IPv4/IPv6 routing operations while maintaining outstanding control plane performance for mission-critical networks.

The Routing Engine includes 64GB of DRAM for fast processing of routing information and forwarding databases, along with dual 50GB solid-state drives (SSDs) that provide redundant storage for Junos OS software, configuration files, logs, system images, and diagnostic data.
